Reviews and other press of SANTALAND DIARIES:
Minnesota Public Radio:
“Does all the holiday shopping and marketing send you over the edge? Then maybe you need to spend some quality time with Crumpet the Elf. Frank Theatre has brought back its holiday hit from last year, based on the NPR commentaries that launched David Sedaris' career. If you can't hear it from David himself, than actor Joe Leary is your man.”

Voiceplaces.com:
“Look closer, and it's even possible to discern some outright affection for the season, a fact that has made Frank Theatre's yearly production a highlight of the Twin Cities holiday season. With Joe Leary returning as Crumpet the Elf, Santaland has packaged enough acidic humor to make even the meanest of scrooges crack a delightfully wicked grin.”

Metro Magazine:
“There is no room for equivocation: the funniest shows on offer this holiday season is the Frank Theatre’s The Santaland Diaries.”

How Was the Show:
“Does all the holiday shopping and marketing send you over the edge? Then maybe you need to spend some quality time with Crumpet the Elf. Frank Theatre has brought back its holiday hit from last year, based on the NPR commentaries that launched David Sedaris' career. If you can't hear it from David himself, than actor Joe Leary is your man….(Joe) Leary rarely takes the energy level to 10 (another potential trap) and thus gives a modulated and charming performance. He lets Sedaris do the nasty heavy lifting and has an infectious good time. It’s good work – and no doubt he had excellent support from director Wendy Knox.”
